Task 6 (Final) 71km

The last day appeared to be similar to yesterday with a lowish base and high pressure. As the day progressed it got way better. The classic VDB convergence line with a few clouds showing the way. Start was 5km Exit cylinder at Maguey then out to Divisadero. Then it was on to Los Saucos, back to Iglesia, cross the lake to La Pena and goal at the lake. A mad start gaggle over Espina and Crazy Thermal had us all gritting our teeth in the turbulence and crowded gaggle. Then it was on to Divisadero, a long glide provided us with the nicest line to Divis all week, meaning light winds. Out and back to Divis and then Maguey where we tanked in the increasing convergence. Crossing the mesa I went in deep with a few pilots and got super low arriving at the back of Escalera. Kicking the treetops and watching my lead go to waste I grovelled 100ft off the deck and managed to work the ridge lift and get back up into the convergence. Mashed the bar out to Los Saucos and back with not much climbing just following the clouds in the convergence. Tanked back up at La Casa and mashed the bar all the way into goal. Lots of piltos there. I was pretty slow since I was stuck but it is always nice making to goal after a struggle. Party tonite and good times all week. This Monarca was the best ever. Now gotta work.
