Wow!!! 83km task was set. I got to 11,000 ft crossing some of the most impressive high desert terrain today. Lots of land outs in inhospitable terrain. So far everyone making it back. Not sure about how many in goal, if any, as of late in the day. Three turnpoints that were 48km and 30km apart, so you hit the start which was right over the LZ then 48km XC flight to the next one. Most people landing just shy of the 48km, a few making it past. This is XC flying at its finest. Big fat thermals with sharp cores and dry air flying across buttes, flatlands, valley crossings, and mountain ranges all being linked up along the course. Incredible terrain. Hopefully, the winds will stay as they were today, perfect L and V.
