3rd and final Epic task

Racing to Farmer right after the start.

121km Triangle was the order of the day. The task committee didnt let us slouch. The first leg was to Farmer, then all the way across to Leahy and then back to the Soccer field LZ below the Butte. Clouds, light winds, and cool temps high made for the best day of the year so far. I was in the saddle for 6hrs and ten minutes and made it in to goal in 5:04hrs. Dean Stratton pushed hard all day and won the task in 3hrs and 50minutes or so. The crux was getting the Leahy turnpoint then back into wind to push the 45km back to goal. An epic day was had by all that made it to goal or not. Santiago Baeza from Mexico flew fast and consistent and won the whole she-bang. A great comp even though we only got three days of flying but all three were great. We also broke the U.S. distance triangle record on this task. Cant wait to do it again next year. SM

Wow! Sounds awesome as hell! Congrats on another good comp. I can't even imagine flying for 6 hours! Can't wait to fly with ya down in Owens next month.
