F.U. I dont need no stinkin oil for this

Going by the forecast today, I thought we were in for the normal windy, dreary rainy, type stuff although there was some of that. Looking outside it was time to go no matter what the forecasts were saying. These are the plum-like spring-type days that you have to be ready for.
Hiking up I could feel the South wind blowing a little. Once on launch it was cycling through with some real strong gusts blowing in. But the clouds were all there, cumulus bases around 4000ft. I was ridge soaring the South side waiting for something bigger to come through and take me up but I was getting pummeled by the winds and thermals that were snaking through and not climbing well. Several folks launched off in bad cycles and were bombing out but I noticed Meredyth was lower than me and out over the valley had hooked into something real nice. I joined and we rocketed out towards base. Taking this as my cue I drifted with it to the North ridge and followed the lift line there and then out over I-90, there I found a very weak thermal but I knew it was a matter of time. Meredyth met up with me but the weak stuff was gone by then. She eventually put down at the park and ride after scratching around for awhile. I took the tailwind and headed straight for the Green towers and found real weak lift. Going on downwind I saw a really nice cu forming and took what I had left to glide there. I hooked it and it was snaky rough but it was going up real good, around 5m/s. After getting established in it I realized that I was getting into the convergence line out over the valley. Looking around me The winds were coming in every way and topped at 4000ft Sweet! I mashed the bar after topping it and went on a long lifty glide to Snoqualmie Valley. I arrived near Carnation but the clouds were squalling all around and shading. So I kept on gliding and was preparing a really nice LZ by the river to land on. A couple hundred over I hit a nice thermal that took me up about 1500ft so I headed more North. At this point the cloudstreet was pointed right over the "no mans land" of the plateau. Seeing that this line would eventually pinch down with no LZ's in site and it was more shady now with squalls around me. So, I headed Northwest up the valley some more and boated along for a bit with some birds and eventually landed near the river by Novelty just before Duvall. It stayed dry for a bit but then started showering, so I think got it just right. Thanks to Meredyth for picking me up and finding the big one to leave Tiger with. SM
