Mecca
This is paragliding mecca. Cloudbase is around 3-4000ft above launch, there's convergence, acro over the lake if you want to throw it down after an epic xc flight, and grassy landing fields. All with new and old friends. Today my old buddies from Bozeman showed up and we all fly over the mesa hanging out in the convergence for a bit. Andy Macrae, Chris Kurowski and I met up then toured to the lake where I took some pics and short video of them doing some nice acro with about 5000ft of vertical until we all landed at the lake. Super fun day.
Everyday now leading up to the comp/s there has been more hot ships showing up. Today a plethora of comp wings filling the sky covering the entire mesa at cloudbase around 11,000ft. Lots of people coming in to the lake lz and lots of old friends showing up. The Monarca starts the first task on Sunday. There is the biggest mix of nationalities I have ever seen in one place. Should be interesting competing with some of the top pilots in the world here this season. Stay tuned. SM
