An epic day at Saddle Mountain on Friday. First, it was strong but soarable when we first arrived. Then, it mellowed slightly and just stayed on through sunset. After watching the amazing sunset to the West behind Mt. Rainier a couple minutes later the full moon rose in the East. It rose with the sharp crisp air low in the horizon that is Autumn. Still being soarable with the full moon in the horizon most of us were still flying until dark. To top it off, three of us flew down with 14m2 speed wings making the first speed descent off of Saddle Mtn. and landed maybe 25 seconds later in the dunes. Sweet Fall day flying above the Columbia River Basin.
