Tiger Mountain, its "on"

Hiked up to launch today to find the wind blowing about every direction. Since there was a beautiful cloud street just above launch I opted to stay and see what was happening. Just thermals coming up the hill and behind and from the East and the West. That meant it was going up all around! Launched off the south side and glided for about 20 seconds where I encountered a real nice rocket that took me straight to cloudbase. Around 5300' it was crystal clear and super smooth with a tailwind from the Southeast. I opted to glide with the wind towards I-90 and Lake Sammamish but the street I was under had dissipated. Figuring I could salvage a nice FAI triangle I headed South and then over Squak Mountain where it was all sink. But I had enough for the triangle and landed safely with some turbulent air in the Tiger LZ. All in all a 27 minute flight that took me to cloudbase. Incredible! The way the air felt and the angle of the sun today feels like it is getting good for Spring xc thermalling conditions. Today was just a taste, yum yum.
